About Thiashola Tea Estate

The Thiashola Tea Estate is a tea plantation located in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the oldest tea estates in the region, having been established in 1834. The estate is spread over an area of 190 hectares and is located at an altitude of 6,000 to 7,000 feet above sea level. The climate in the region is ideal for tea cultivation, with cool temperatures and abundant rainfall.

Once upon a time, during the Opium Wars, Chinese prisoners were brought to the area. Among them were some who were skilled in planting tea. They decided to plant tea plants in the area and thus, the first tea plants were introduced to the region. For years, they had been nurturing and caring for their plants, tending to them with love and dedication. Slowly but surely, these plants grew and flourished under their watchful eye, until they had transformed into vast and thriving plantations.
